Dr. Musello is not only an experienced psychologist, but someone whose many different life experiences have informed her effectiveness as a therapist. She arrived at her calling as a psychologist following a circuitous path that took her from waitress & ski bum to artist to an M.Ed in education and a role as a teacher of behaviorally-disordered adolescents in residential and public school settings. While teaching, she returned to graduate school to pursue her doctorate in psychology. She believes, like the great baseball player, Willie Stargell, that learning from our failures and missteps is the key to eventual success.

Dr. Musello graduated from Antioch New England Graduate School, and did both a predoctoral internship in Child and Adolescent Psychology and a two year Postdoctoral Fellowship in Substance Abuse and Adult Psychology at a Harvard Medical School Training Hospital, McLean Hospital in Belmont, Mass.

After completing her postdoctoral training, Dr. Musello stayed on at McLean Hospital as a staff psychologist and a Harvard Medical School faculty member. At McLean, the oldest psychiatric hospital in the United States, Dr. Musello treated substance abusers, adolescents, families and adults in both outpatient and inpatient settings. While at McLean, she appeared on local television news & radio.

Dr. Musello left the hospital setting to start a private practice, first as part of a group practice in Arlington, MA and then as a solo practitioner in Groton, MA. Today, she's recognized for her expertise in adolescent and young adult issues , as well as in treating mood disorders & trauma , including her work with returning veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan.
